KJ Thomas Mechanical has been family-owned and Boulder-based since the 90s. We have watched national companies and private equity firms buy their way into town, but that is not us. We are still the same local crew that answers our own phones, shows up with drop cloths, and takes care of neighbors.

Karl Thomas started the company with one truck, a notebook, and a promise to keep work honest. Decades later we are still hands-on: Karl still walks jobs, our kids have learned the trade, and we keep decision-making in the family. No corporate call centers, no surprise markups, just steady craftsmanship.

KJ Thomas Mechanical was founded and is still run by Karl Thomas, a tradesperson who raised his family here. We are not for sale. Remaining independent keeps pricing fair, communication direct, and workmanship personal. We have over 30 years of hands-on experience, and the same people who quote your job are the ones who install it.

Most of the team has been with us for years. We train on Trane systems and Mitsubishi mini-splits, but the real difference is in the details: airflow, sealing, and finishing touches that PE-owned shops rush past.
